SPONGEWARS.COM is an Israeli Bodyboarding website aiming to develop, promote and bring together the bodyboarding society in Israel. The name - SPONGEWARS symbolizes the ever going wars between bodyboarders and they're "rivals" – the regular surfers. The name also signifies the ongoing war on the false conception that was built about bodyboarders.

The homepage contains news articles from Israel and abroad for those who want to be kept updated or for those of us who wishes to learn and decide about the next surfing trip journey... my promise to you is that I'll keep on developing the site and add in many more features as we go along, in short, expect surprises!
The website holds no interest in profits, and is being updated on a daily basis all this for enabling our community and friends to fly higher without wings.

Who am I? My name is Oron Kessel, 7 times in a row Israel bodyboarder champion, member of the Israel surf team, ranked 7th in Europe and 20th Worldwide.
My mission is to promote the body boarding sport and give it the respect I think it deserves and that is not given to this date. The body boarding sport is amongst the fastest growing sport activity.
I began surfing when I was 12 years old, at the beginning I started as a regular surfer… but not before long, I figured what I was really after is body boarding and shifted to sponge when I was 15 years old and immediately caught into it and started competing through the ISA (Israel Surfing Association), aged 17, I proclaimed my first championship and kept on going through age 24. today I'm freestyler and not a competitor anymore but I do believe I can help the community and promote the sport better than any other union or organization.
